Why do we need volunteers?
In a club like Natation Gatineau, volunteers are present at every level, at every moment. They are the ones who sit on the board of directors and make the decisions that shape the club’s future. They are the ones who make competitions possible — timekeepers, turn judges, operators —; up to 120 people can be mobilized for a single day. They are the ones who create the human fabric that makes a child want to come back to the pool week after week.
This is not a minor detail: it is the foundation on which everything rests. Québec’s Companies Act requires that a board of directors made up of volunteer members govern every non-profit — no volunteers on the board = no legally recognized club. And the FNQ is just as categorical: without the minimum number of certified officials present during competitions = no sanctioned results.
With the 2026–2027 season, we are taking a real turning point, because we need you. Each of you has skills or expertise to offer. If you would like to give a little of your time, you might be interested in taking part in one of these committees.

At the first meeting of each of these committees, a mentor lead and the executive director will be present to trace the history and explain the purpose of each.
