Officials and volunteers are essential to the club. This committee aims to integrate and train new members, ensure the follow-up of their training and certifications, and verify and reconcile the requirements of the volunteer program.
Mission
- Recruit, train and support officials, starting with the first groups in our competitive structure.
- Ensure a strong partnership between the competition committee, the regional committee and the FNQ.
- Coordinate officials’ participation at competitions.
- Promote officials’ certification and continuing development.
- Follow up on the Volunteer Engagement Program (VEP).
- Recognize volunteer engagement in partnership with the communications committee.
Responsibilities
- Keep the list of the club’s certified officials up to date.
- Coordinate registration for training and lead that training.
- Ensure a sufficient presence of officials at each competition.
- Promote our officials’ successes in partnership with the social and communications committees.
- Track officials’ and volunteers’ hours in connection with the VEP.
- Guide, advise and mentor beginner officials using various means.
- Organize training sessions or rules-review sessions.
- Submit post-competition reports to members in connection with the VEP and communicate them.
- Work closely with the competition committee.
Who we’re looking for
- Good command of Excel or any other platform for tracking hours.
- A sense of responsibility, rigour, consistency and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A desire to contribute to the development of the sport.
- Official certification or a willingness to become certified.
