A lively club is a close-knit community. The social committee creates the gatherings that strengthen the bonds between athletes, families, coaches and volunteers. Happy members make a happy club.
Mission
- Plan and coordinate the club’s social and festive activities throughout the year.
- Foster the integration of new members and their sense of belonging.
- Create an inclusive, warm and positive environment within the club.
- Recognize volunteers and highlight athletes’ accomplishments.
Responsibilities
- Organize a welcome activity.
- Plan team-building activities (outings, potluck breakfasts, etc.).
- Organize the annual gala.
- Ensure the allocated annual budget is respected.
- Coordinate the awards and recognitions with the executive director, coaches and communications committee.
- Run recreational fundraisers proposed by the partnership committee.
- Prepare a theme at local competitions in support of the communications committee.
- Report to the board at the end of the season.
Who we’re looking for
- Energy, creativity, a sense of responsibility and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to mobilize people and delegate.
- Interest in community life and collective well-being.
- Availability during events (evenings and weekends).
Suggested activities
- Welcome for new members (September).
- Fall, winter, spring and summer activities.
- Potluck breakfast for all groups.
- Recognition of athletes and volunteers at the gala.
- Fun fundraiser (e.g. bingo, spaghetti dinner) in partnership with the partnership committee.
